Competitors from the Beech House Dental Practice Time Trial League assembled to receive their awards last week. Boneshakers rider Steve Smales collected the League Trophy as well as the Veteran’s trophy for the second successive year. The ladies’ Trophy was won by Clifton CC rider Jessica Bacon in her first season in this competition. The Junior Trophy was won by find of the season, Julian Varley of Harrogate Nova. The over 50’s trophy was won by Mike Hudson of Nova and the over 60s trophy was won by Nova’s Tony Kent. The most Improved Rider Trophy, for the rider who’s times at each event improved the most over their best time in the previous three seasons, was won by Nova’s Roger Bromiley with Nova’s Alison Sarmiento in second place. Team Hope Racing’s Bobbin Gardner won the School boy Trophy. Finally, Dave Morris was awarded the MoonGlu Cyclocross Trophy for the 2012 season as the 2013 cross season is ongoing now. Riders would like to thank Vaughan and Margaret Caswell for giving up so much time to run another successful season. The next event will be the first cycling event in Harrogate’s Tour De France year, the inaugural Ripley Cyclocross, come and watch if you aren’t riding.
